Meet Brenda Boatman
Brenda Boatman has spent her life answering the call to serve.
Raised on a ranch in New Mexico’s Estancia Valley, Brenda later moved with her family to Albuquerque and graduated from Hope Christian High School. After attending the University of New Mexico, she enlisted in the United States Army, serving our country as an Air Traffic Controller.
Today, Brenda is a disabled Army veteran who still believes deeply in duty, service, and putting others before self. She is running for the New Mexico House of Representatives because she believes those same values are badly needed in Santa Fe.
Brenda and her husband, Matthew, have called House District 17 home for nearly 15 years. They raised four children and are now proud grandparents. Their family has experienced firsthand the importance of educational choice, with two of their children graduating from Albuquerque public charter schools.
Brenda has also seen the challenges facing New Mexico up close—from crime in our neighborhoods and struggling small businesses to veterans facing housing and food insecurity and young families leaving the state in search of better opportunities.
She believes New Mexico can do better.
Brenda is running to bring a veteran’s commitment to service, accountability, and results to the State House. She will fight for safer neighborhoods, stronger educational opportunities, responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars, greater transparency in government, support for New Mexico’s veterans, and an economy that gives families and small businesses the opportunity to succeed.
For Brenda, public service isn’t about politics. It’s about answering the call to serve, and fighting for a stronger New Mexico for our children and grandchildren.
